CARAMEL ALBINO
The caramel Albino is also known as the T+ albino or T positive Albino ( the T stands for Tyrosianse) Also as the Xanthic
The caramel albino is a simple ressesive trait
Description - The tan body of the normal Ball is replaced with a light to mustard yellow and a lavander hue, the black bands are replaced with a caramel color giving it its name. Its eyes are light with red pupils, sometimes a teal blue can be seen in some lines. Not all lines are compatable with this gene. The original Male caramel that was brought into the country was actually a paradoxed animal with large black blotches of color on its body. These snakes are trully stunning, they are one of our favorites. Our line came from Scott at CV exotics which originates from Kevins line at NERD. Words cant describe these animals...
The original caramel was first produced by Kevin owner of NERD in 1996.

ORANGE GHOST
Orange Ghosts are also known as hypomelanistics. There are many types of ghosts, such as Green, yellow, ornage and buterscotch. There have been many crosses also to make combinations of these amazing animals. Raplh Davis also has his own line of peach ghosts. Not all Ghost lines are compatible
All ghosts are Simple Resesive
Description - Ghosts overall body in very light, Orange ghosts have orange hues running down there sides where as Green Ghosts have transluscent green hues and Yellow Ghosts have plae yellow hues. The black pattern is faded, sometimes it is a off grey and soetimes its off brown. Hypomelanistic means less melamin which is dark pigment, leaving the animal with a washed out faded apparence. Ghosts are an amazing animal in themselves but can also make some outstanging crosses such as the Honey Bee and the Pastel Ghosts. There will surley be many more crosses in the future.
The first ghost was produced by Kevin at NERD in 1994
MOJAVE
Mojaves dont go by any other names as of yet, Ralph Davis's phantom has a similar apparence but has not proven to be the same, also Anthony McCain has a similar looking Ball that he is calling the Mystic which looks to be a phantom of sorts, the genetics have not been fully explored yet.
Moajves are Co- Dom, when breed together they poduce a Dom gene which is a Super Mojave also known as the blue eyed Lucy. The supers of this form are amazing, not matter who says what white snakes never get boring, exspecially if they have blue eyes.
Description - Mojaves have a deep color rich in brown and cream, and yellow. As babies there color are vibrant, they almost posses a velvety quality. As they mature the colors do tend to fade a little. They have alot of blushing on there sides of white and cream that fades into there bellies. Mojaves normally have numerous circles and blotches down there sides producing an amazing display of color and pattern. Not even taking the super into consideration these animals can stand alone, they trully are spectacular in person.
The first Mojaves were produced in 2000 by Dan and Colette Sutherland
CINNAMON PASTEL
There are actually two lines, there is the cinnamon pastel and also the black pastel. They both produce a super which is a very dark brown almost black snake with no pattern and a white belly. They also look very similar, cinnamonas are normally lighter with more cream and light brown, where as the blacks are a darker richer brown with a brighter white.
Both Blacks and Cinnamons are Co- Dom and both have a Super form. The Dom snake is known as the Super Cinnamon, Super Black, Chocolate or Black Ball.
Description - The most stunning part i feel on the cinnamons and blacks are the waves of cream and white they have that run along there bellies and up there sides. Some have solid waves down there intire body lenght. Many Cinnamons also have large amounts of dorsal stipping down there back. The Cinnamons are lighter in color, hence there name, where as the Blacks are darker and richer in blacks and browns. The Balck has more contrast to it th the cinny. Cinnys heads are light brown where as the Blacks are also darker. Both have wite patternless bellies. Cinnamons and Blacks are both and equally attractive, they are also the key to the Silver Bullet and the Silver Streak. Ian G has an amazing line of Black pastels, i have seen some of the best come out of his line (that is just my opinion) There are also many other great lines. The only problem that breeders can run into is that the super form can sometimes have clefts, a genetic defect from having close lines, where a piece of the lip is missing, most babies will eat and do well regaurdless of this defect tough.
The first Blacks were produced by Brian and Loi from BHB
The first Cinnamons were produced by Greg Graziani
PASTEL
Pastels are also known as Jungle Pastels. There are many lnes of pastels. NERD has a Pastel line and a Lemon Pastel line, the Lemons hold there color as they grow older instead of dulling out. There is also, Graziani lines, BELL lines, Blondes, Rupples, Stonewashed, and the list goes on. It seems that any big breeder that has been selective breeding for awhile, now has there own lines. We are currently working with Lemons, NERD pastels and Bell line pastels.
All line of pastels are Co-Dom and all have a super form resulting in the super pastel, some lines produce a brighter super. The super is an exaggerated pastel, its colors are more vibrant it has brighter yellow and more blushing, there heads are also super light.
Description - Pastels are vibrant, they have extremem amounts of yellow and orange that creep up there sides. The black is pattern normally has a lot of blushing and there pattern has alot of flames near there bellies. When they first come out of there eggs they have a white snout and an almost "purple" head. There eyes are much lighter then a normal Ball, they normally are green or yellow. There bellies are white and paternless. As pastels mature there yellow grows a little darker, breeders are selective breeding now for pastels that do not fade out as they get older. The Lemon line and Blonde line are two lines that hold alot of there color onto adult hood. Pastels have made some unbeleivable morphs and along with the ghosts are the true backbones of the trade. They have been crossed to make Bumble bees and killer bees (pastel spider, super pastel spider), also the lemon blasts (pastel pinstipe) and many many more.
The first pastels were bought by Kevin at NERD, Greg Graziani proved them out in 1997
PIEDS
Pieds are also known as Pieblads
Pieds are simple ressesive
Description - Pieds are absolutley amazing, people that dont even know snakes or like them are captivated by these animals. At reptile shows you can watch the crowds reaction as they look apon a display with pieds in it. As babies they have large orange and black patches of color with a vertically stipped pattern, folllowed by large areas of solid white scales. As the grow the orange is subdued but the white never changes. These snakes can not be compared to any other snake in this trade, there are no others that come close to the pied. Pieds heads are always nomal looking, there has never been an occurance where the color on the head has been changed. When hatching pieds its hard to tell once they start piping b/c they will all look normal untill the body pattern starts to show. Every Pied is as unique as a fingerprint, no too Pieds will have the same amount of white. Some have 90% others are very low whites at around 25%. Its a surprise everytime you hatch the out. Pieds just recently have been crossed into a few designer morphs, last year alone "2005' the Lavander Albino, Caramel albino and the pastel pieds were revealed.
Pieds were first produced by Peter Kahl in 1997
SPIDER
Spiders are sometimes called spider webbed Balls. Although Spider is the most common.
Spiders are co-doms, but they are one of the few co-doms that do not produce a super.
Description - Spiders are very easy to recognize, they normally have high white sides that fades into a yellow or tan dorsal. They have a thin black banded pattern that resembles a spiders web, hence there names. They have light eyes normaly a very pale yellow or green. There heads are very unique, they have very light patches across the top of the head and neck, they also normally have black markings on there lower jaw that resembles a mustache. There bellies are completley clear with no pattern. Some spiders have alot of stripping down here backs rather then thin bands. There have been many crosses, Honey Bees (Orange Ghost Spider) is one of my personal favorites, they literally glow orange. Bumble bees (pastel spiders) or Killer Bees (super pastel spider) are also big eye catchers at shows. The redued pattern of the spider allows for alot of color to be shown off when crossed to other morphs.
Spiders were first produced by Kevin from NERD in 1999.
YELLOW BELLIES
True proven lines of yellow bellies are now called Het Ivories even though they are a co-dom morph.
Yellow Bellies are a co-dom morph that when breed together make and Ivory Ball, an off white Ball with no pattern. There is alot of controversy with the Yellow Bellies, they are a difficult morph to desifer unless you know what to look for. There are many people trying to sell Yellow Bellies from unproven lines because they "think" it looks like a Yellow Belly. If you are looking to produce Ivories then buy a Yellow Belly from a proven line so that you are guarenteed to have a true Yellow Belly.
Description - Yellow Bellies dont always have yellow bellies. They actually have clear bellies with a granite like pattern that resembles a checkerboard running down either side of there belly scales. They normally have alot of flares and flames on there sides also. There pattern is that of a normal Ball but there colors have a tendency of being more vibrant, but that is not always the case. The only way of telling a true Yellow Belly is by breeding it or buying from a proven line. There are wild Yellow Bellies that are sold and yes some do prove out, but also, many do not. Buy smat when purchasing one of these animals. Yellow bellies are a mystery snake in my book, they have been the key to varous different morphs over the past few years. Some have proven more then once while sme are still trying to be proved. Admirs Ebony was from breeding a granite to a Yellow Belly, but another one as not been re-produced. Jared Honstien produced an amazing animal he called the super stripper (he is yet to tell us what other morph or animal was n play here) that he as proved twice now, proving it to be genetic, which was a very big excitment to the trade. We will see in the future what other amazing morphs this co-dom can create.
Yellow Bellies were founded a few years ago, but no one know exactlly who was the first to produce it. The first Ivory (super Yellow Belly) was produced by Dan and Colette Sutherland in 2003.
SABLE
Sables were originally known as "Hypermelanistics" or hypers before they proved a super. Once a super was proven there name was changed to Sable.
Sables are a co-dom that when breed together create the Super Sable, an extreme in the hypermelanistic world. This animal not only is incredibly dark but the pattern is also altered.
Description - Sables are stunning animals in person. They have irredescent hue to there whole body, there scales "shine". There overall body is sooty looking, sometimes with granite flecking. Many Sables have a broken stripe down there dorsal. There bellies are truly amazing, instead of being clear or patternless like many co-doms it is completley speckled with black patches. There bellies are a character that sets them apart from many look alikes. There eyes are very dark almost black. They have a heavy yellow that travels up there sides from their bellies and blends into black graniting along there sides. The super Sable has almost silver sides and is even darker then the Sable. The pattern is altered with abnormal wild blotches of pepered specks. There bellies are also colored and not clear. It will be amazing to see what these animals will throw once crossed into other Morphs. They are still fairly new to the Ball Python trade (being only introduced to the trade last season 2005) so hopefully this season there will be many crosses to trully show off these great animals... Every big breeder always wanted a genetically dark snake... well HERE IT IS !!!!!
The original Sabe was purchased by and owned by Aaron Burkett. The Sable was proven genetic in 2002. In 2005 Eric Burkett proved it to have a super and then named the Morph.
